Ruby on Rails Developer

Salary: to £45k (UKP)

Summary:

Home Worker UK or outside. Fantastic Development Project. Requires Exceptional Developer.

Details:

The main project (80% of your effort) will be on the development of a specific site of our design.

The main functions/features of the site include:

  • Transferring sound files
  • Encoding/Watermarking sounds and images
  • Streaming playback
  • Forums
  • Rating systems
  • Member management
  • Database interface

The site will not be advertising funded and does not involve music.

The remaining 20% of your effort will be for the development of various ad-hoc systems for our customers and for use in-house.

This role is purely development and there will be no demand on you to provide direct support to customers.

This is a fantastic, fully funded development project, and would benefit from an exceptional developer.

About You

Essential: It is essential that you have an exceptional proven track record in web development for effective and scalable communities using either Perl, Python, OpenACS or Ruby.

Some proven track record in Ruby on Rails development is also essential but we are prepared to fund the training of the right candidate.

You will also be enjoyable to work with.

About the Location

We are based in the NW of the UK and for this role we believe that you can be based from our office or from your home with regular phone, email & instant messaging contact.

If you can prove to us that you are exceptional we would be happy to take on someone based outside the UK (NZ would be particularly interesting). However, it is essential that you are prepared to have some overlap with UK working hours, and that English is your main language.
